2011 Best Video Production Company in the Corridor

On Monday the 25th, of July, the Corridor Business Journal and their readers named MVP Video Production the Best Video Production company in the corridor!

The survey is done yearly, and this is the first time that we appeared as the Best of the Corridor.  The “Best of…” comprises many different industries from best coffee shop, to best printer to best golf course, etc…The composite list has grown so much over the  past few years, that the Corridor Business Journal now divides the winners up into two issues.

“Being recognized by the Corridor Business Journal readers as the best in the corridor is a huge thrill.  It’s a great way to start the week.” said Kirk Monson, president and co-owner of MVP Video Production.


MVP Donates to C.R. Downtown District

Kirk Monson and Jeff Zahrt from MVP Video Production recently stopped down at the Cedar Rapids Downtown District to donate some of the proceeds from the movie which they produced and directed, “Resilience; The Spirit of Humanity”.

The movie “Resilience, The Spirit of Humanity” is about the 2008 flood in Cedar Rapids, and more specifically about the people that were dealing with the flood waters.

MVP Receives 6 nods from the IMPA

MVP Video Production was in attendance at the 2010 Iowa Motion Picture Association (IMPA) awards banquet on May 1st in Des Moines.  We were fortunate to received six (6) awards from the IMPA that night.  Three of the awards were “Awards of Excellence”.  They were for work we did for the Boys & Girls Club of Cedar Rapids, Procter & Gamble, and Panchero’s Mexican Grill.

MVP Video Production is pleased to accept three Telly Awards this year, a Silver Telly for “Resilience; The Spirit of Humanity” and two Bronze Telly Awards for “Courageous Stories,” a video created for Mercy Medical Center and “Putty and Barney,” an internal corporate piece for Procter and Gamble.

“Winning a Telly is a fantastic honor.  It’s a competition that is judged by our peers, so a Telly award really means a lot,” says Jeff Zahrt.  “Within the video production community, it means that we are producing stories on video that are on par with the best in the nation.”

…MVP Video Production!

The Small Business of the Year award was presented at The Gala on March 26, 2010 hosted by the Cedar Rapids Chamber of Commerce.  This inaugural event, held at the newly reopened Theatre Cedar Rapids, presented four awards including Volunteer of the Year and Entrepreneur of the Year.  MVP Video Production was the recipient of Small Business of the Year award.

Both Kirk Monson and Jeff Zahrt were present to accept the award.  “This is so exciting,” says Zahrt.  “To be recognized nationally for our work is so rewarding but to be recognized locally is equally significant because it not only applauds the work that we do but also our contribution to the Cedar Rapids community.”

According to Shannon Meyer, President of the Chamber of Commerce, the Small Business of the Year award is given to the company that portrays business excellence, is involved in the community and has advanced in economic growth through sales and earnings.  The winning organization exceeds customer and client expectations and provides the utmost quality in customer service, as well as seeks to improve and better the Cedar Rapids community.

MVP invited to screen Mercy’s “100 Days” documentary during Fairfield Art Walk Film Festival

A celebration of Film in Iowa – Fairfield 1st Fridays Art Walk 6th Annual Film Expo occurring February 5-7, 2010. The 1st Fridays Art Walk 6th Annual Film Expo highlights Producers, Writers, Director and Actors who have some connections to the Iowa Film Industry. Feature films, including MVP’s documentary, “100 Days” along with shorts and youth / student films will be shown.

During the course of the weekend the festival will also be holding two workshops. On February 6th @ 1pm the Workshop attendees will be an introduced to the “Animation industry” by Grasshorse Animation from Mt Pleasant Iowa. The Second workshop also February 6th starting @ 9:30am will be an all day “Script Production Workshop” to be held at Hawthorne Direct Studios. MVP picks up two Davey Awards

The winners of The 2009 Davey Awards have been announced by the International Academy of the Visual Arts. MVP brings home the bacon at Videographers Awards!

MVP Video Production recently received five industry awards for videos created on behalf of Iowa clients. MVP earned recognition for video production in the 2009 Videographer Awards.

 

The 2009 Videographer Awards for MVP include three Awards of Excellence and two Awards of Distinction.
